Social Intentions takes your privacy and the security of your data seriously. We provide a platform for people to express their true intentions.. Interested persons can set a True Intention, or "Trint" for short, If the subject of your Trint independently sets the same Trint, within a specified period of time, then, and only then, will we communicate the match to both parties.

Please read the following Social Intentions Website Privacy Policy (the "Policy") to understand how we may use and disclose the personal information we collect from you when you use our service and set Trints.

Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to and (the "Site"), the Trint the TrintMe Facebook Application (the "Application"), and all services offered or made available through the Site or the Application (the "Services") by Social Intentions or its subsidiaries and affiliates, who may, collectively be referred to in this Policy as "Social Intentions," "we," or "our." By visiting the Site, using any of the Services, or creating or logging into an account at the Site, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy, which is incorporated by reference into the Social Intentions Terms of Service.

What Information Do We Collect About You and Why?

The information we collect from you allows you to log into our Site and helps us to provide our Services to you, send you information or content you may be interested in, and connect you with other users. We also use this information to personalize and continually improve our Site and our users' experiences at the Site. Here are the types of information we gather:

Account Information. Users may log into the Site through Facebook Connect. During the log-in process and when users first visit the Site, we may collect the following:

Facebook Connect Log-in Information. We will ask you to log into our Site through your Facebook Account. We will also ask for your registered Facebook e-mail address to validate your credentials.

This information is associated with your TrintMe username and may be combined with other information, including personally identifiable information, that we collect about you.

Information We Collect Automatically. We may use cookies, web beacons, and other automated devices to collect information about you when you visit our Site and use our service. Specifically, we may collect the following information via these technologies: your browser type and operating system; web pages you view; links you click; your IP address; and website visited before our Site. Please see the section "What About Cookies" below for more information about our use of cookies. We may use the information gathered through these methods in anonymous or aggregated form to analyze ways to improve our Site or services. This information is also associated with your TrintMe username and may be combined with other information, including personally identifiable information, that we collect about you.

We use cookies on our Site. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. Some cookies allow us to make it easier for you to navigate our Site, while other cookies are used to enable a faster login process or to allow us to track your activities at the Site.

How Do We Use Your Information?

Social Intentions uses the information we gather for the following purposes:

  • To provide our Services to you, to communicate with you concerning your account, and for other customer service purposes.
  • To tailor the content and information that we may send or display to you, and to otherwise personalize your experiences while using the Site or our Services.
  • To improve our Site and Services by providing personalized experiences, location customization, personalized help and instructions.
  • To track and process your purchases.
  • For research purposes.
  • To display targeted advertisements to you or, in some cases, to send you news and newsletters, special offers and promotions.
  • To better understand how users access and use our Site and Services, both on an aggregated and individualized basis, for the purposes of improving our Site and Services and responding to user desires and preferences.

When and How Does Social Intentions Share Information It Receives?

Your privacy is important to us, and we want users to feel comfortable about participating at the Site and setting Trints. We do not sell, rent or trade our users' personally identifiable information. In addition, we do not disclose personally identifiable information about users to third parties for marketing purposes. In some instances, however, we may disclose information about users, including personally identifiable information, as described below:

  • Other TrintMe Users. Certain information will be visible to or shared with other TrintMe users:
  • Name and Profile Picture. Your name and profile picture will be visible to all other TrintMe users who are also your Facebook friends. In addition, when you join TrintMe, a notification will be visible on your Facebook page telling your friends that you have started using the TrintMe application, and the TrintMe application will be visible on your Facebook page under "applications." In addition, we allow you to send messages to other Facebook users, inviting them to join TrintMe; your name, profile picture and message, and the fact that you are a member of TrintMe, will be sent to these Facebook users.
  • Your True Intentions. When you identify a specific true intention - or "Trint" - towards another person; we will not convey your trint to the other person. However, we will notify both you and that person of a match, if, and only if, he or she has set the same Trint for you. If the other TrintMe user has not set the same Trint for you, then we will not notify him or her about your Trint.
  • Affiliates. We may disclose the information we collect from you to our affiliates or subsidiaries; however, if we do so, their use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information will be subject to this Policy.
  • Service Providers. We may disclose the information we collect from you to third party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform functions on our behalf. These third parties have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of personally identifiable information and to only use such information for the purposes for which they have been engaged by us.
  • Facebook. Users of our service may invite his/her friends to join the TrintMe Facebook application. If you request that we invite your friends, then your friends will see whatever information you have chosen to make available publicly through your Facebook page. Please verify your privacy settings with Facebook.
  • Business Transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected from to the acquiring company.
  • In Response to Legal Process. We may also disclose the information we collect from you in order to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena.
  • To Protect Social Intentions and Others. We also may disclose the information we collect from you where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, or violations of our Terms of Use or this Policy.
  • Aggregate and Anonymized Information. We may share aggregate or anonymized information about users with third parties for marketing, advertising, research or similar purposes. For example, if we display advertisements on behalf of a third party, we may share aggregate, demographic information with that third party about the users to whom we displayed the advertisements.

Third-Party LinksAt times, the Site may contain links to other third party websites. Any access to and use of such linked websites is not governed by this Policy but, instead, is governed by the privacy policies of those third party websites, and we are not responsible for the information practices of such third party websites.

How Secure Is Information About Me?We have implemented commercially reasonable precautions, including, where appropriate, password protection, encryption, and SSL to protect our Site and the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Please be aware that despite our best efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security all of the time.

You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password and computer by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a password that nobody else knows or can easily guess, and keeping your password private. Also, you should never share your log-in information with others. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity. If you would like to change your Site password, you may do so by logging into your account. To change your Facebook password, you must go to the Facebook site and follow its procedures for changing your password.

Can I Access and Modify My Personal Information?

You may access or delete your Trints by logging into your account. While your Trints may be removed from the current, user-accessible portions of the Site, they may remain in our systems for a period of time. You also may delete the TrintMe application from your Facebook page. Please note that your TrintMe user id and profile picture may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Site or Application.

If you would like to access or modify your Facebook profile information, or adjust the types of information we receive from Facebook, you must adjust your Facebook account settings directly through Facebook. We have no control over how Facebook shares your information with us or other third parties. The information you provide to Facebook is subject to the Facebook privacy policy.

What Choices Do I Have?

You are solely responsible for selecting and setting Trints. We do not share information about any of your Trints with another user. If you and another user have identified the same Trint for one another, then we will notify you of a match. Please note that we cannot control whether such a TrintMe user shares information they receive about your matches towards them, with others. You should keep this in mind whenever you select a Trint.

If we send you any news and newsletters, special offers, promotions or other information we think may interest you, you may tell us to stop sending you such e-mail communications by following the opt-out instructions contained in any such e-mail. Please note that it may take up to 10 days for us to process opt-out and opt-in requests. Further, if you opt-out of receiving emails about recommendations or other information we think may interest you, we may still send you e-mails about your account or any Services you have requested or received from us.

As noted above, to adjust the types of information about you that we receive from Facebook, you must change your Facebook account settings directly through Facebook.

Your use our Site or Services, as well as any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Use, including applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes.
